Couples Counseling
Grounded in emotional attunement, communication, and repair
Where Understanding and
Trust Create Deeper Connection.
Offering virtual + in-person couples therapy in Towson, MD
I work primarily with couples who are preparing for marriage or navigating early relationship concerns.
I am especially experienced in supporting couples who feel stuck in ineffective communication patterns, are facing trust issues, navigating substance use or misuse, or struggling with emotional attunement. Many couples come to therapy wanting to reconnect, rebuild trust, or learn how to better support one another through challenges—including the impact of major life transitions, substance use, or other general life stressors. Whether you’re laying a foundation or repairing connection, couples counseling can help you grow together with intention.

Common Challenges Couples
Face Early On
-
Couples often discover they have very different ways of expressing needs, handling conflict, or responding to stress. Misunderstandings, defensiveness, or avoidance can quickly create patterns where partners feel unheard or invalidate, even when both have good intentions.
-
This includes differences around independence vs. togetherness, time, finances, family involvement, and emotional labor. Many couples struggle with unspoken expectations, assuming their partner “should just know”, which can lead to resentment or power imbalances early on.
-
Learning how to be emotionally open while feeling safe and secure takes time. New couples may struggle with trust, past relationship wounds, or uncertainty about how much vulnerability is “too much,” making it harder to feel deeply connected.
Early in a relationship, challenges are common—and often part of building a strong foundation. These are some of the most common areas new couples find themselves navigating.
Insurance Coverage
Out-of-Network:
Your care deserves to be guided by your needs, not insurance policies. Working outside of insurance allows us to create a therapeutic experience that truly honors your story, pace, and goals.
This is a self-pay option for clients with private insurance or no insurance. Payment is due at the time of each session, and I’m happy to provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. I encourage you to contact your insurance provider to learn more about your out-of-network benefits.
Couples counseling is offered on a self-pay basis, as insurance coverage for couples work is often limited.
My Rates:
Intake Session - $200
Individual Sessions - $185/session
Sliding scale fees are available for a limited number of spots based on financial need. Please inquire for more information.

Finding the right therapist is an important part of the process. We’ll begin with a couples intake session, during which I’ll ask a variety of questions to better understand your relationship, therapy needs, and goals.
If it feels like a good fit, we’ll move forward with individual intake sessions for each partner to gain a more complete understanding of your experiences and needs.
I also want to acknowledge that this can be a vulnerable process. Thank you in advance for showing up with courage and for trusting me with your care.

Once a treatment plan has been established, we will begin the journey of meeting your treatment plan goals as a couple.
I typically recommend starting with weekly sessions which last 60 minutes in duration, tapering down in frequency based on treatment progress and/or client preference.
